Good Neighbour Scheme

Good Neighbour Scheme for older people on Isle of Wight

What does it do?

The good neighbour scheme has been established to assist older people over the age of 50 on the Isle of Wight when they have no family or friends to turn to for help in times of genuine need.

We hope to bring peace of mind to our older residents by building on the island’s amazing community spirit.

Volunteers
Volunteers offer to help in their own local community by telling us what spare time they have and what they feel happy and confident carrying out.

Each area is unique in the support it is able to offer depending on the volunteers’ skills and abilities, but all areas will provide help with shopping, transport, companionship and small household tasks.

All of our volunteers provide two references, are police checked and trained before providing assistance.
