A bit more about me

I have provided financial advice for more than 25 years. Having started my financial advisory career at NatWest/RBS, I moved to Kreston Reeves Financial Planning Ltd in April 2006. Since then I have provided independent financial advice to many clients, have achieved Chartered Financial Planner status and become a full member of SOLLA in June 2012.

My work for elderly clients is extremely rewarding and I am passionate that my clients receive the highest quality advice and service. I recognise that the circumstances surrounding the request for such advice are usually difficult for the relatives of those needing care and who typically have the added responsibility of being Attorney. Recent personal experience has reminded me just how difficult it can be to arrange residential care for a close relative.

I have recently achieved the Retirement Advice Standard from SOLLA Enterprises. The additional qualification assures clients of my experience in the area of retirement planning and specifically my knowledge of the “at retirement” market.

There have been numerous and significant changes to pension legislation in recent years, and more on the way scheduled for April 2016 and beyond. Whilst the basic options of cash, annuity or drawdown might not seem too perplexing the reality is different. Helping clients plan for retirement and the implementation of plans to secure the retirement they have saved for is always an exciting journey.

Typically the changes to Lifetime Allowances, Annual Allowances and the various protection regimes create technical challenges to solve particularly for clients with the benefit of high quality final salary pension arrangements. I am frequently asked to provide specialist reports on this subject.

In my spare time I enjoy music and dance – (guitar player and modern jive dancer), the great outdoors – walking and bird watching.
