What does it do?

Postural Stability Classes.  These are specialised falls prevention exercise classes taken by a Later Life trained Instructor.

Who it is for?

Postural stability exercise programmes are for elderly and vulnerable residents of Kent aged 65 and over, and elderly and vulnerable residents aged 55 and over who have a long term condition and /or disability and who meet the eligibility criteria for the programme.  Which is:
     
  • Fear of falling
  • Feeling unstable
  • History of falls
  • Low bone density

Where it is available?

Local service (Tonbridge & Malling, Tunbridge Wells).

What it costs:

The initial cost of attending a 36 week programme of classes is free of charge.  The follow on classes cost £42 every 6 weeks.

Additional information:

Postural stability classes are for those people who have had a fall or have a fear of falling.  These gentle exercise classes are not only fun but help to keep people independent and living in their own homes.  The average age of people who attend our classes is 80+.  One is never too old to exercise!
