Independent Social Work Services

Independent social work service bringing care choices quickly to you

What does it do?

We are an independent social work company which specialises in providing social work assessments and support to older people and others who are seeking key advice about what would help them and what options they have, before they purchase care services.  This advice can be tailored to support them in their own home or to help them move into different accommodation. We do not recommend products but we do refer to local Social Services and local community groups, with permission, if we think their needs would be best met by statutory services.

1. We offer immediate independent support and social work advice to people living in the community with care needs and income/savings levels over the Local Authority limit of £23,400, and who are seeking some early specialist support to keep themselves healthy and well

2. We offer immediate care support and advice to people living in the community as identified above who cannot buy the services they want from voluntary and statutory services and prefer to purchase a bespoke, personalised service

3. We offer a home support and moving options service for people who want to move into more suitable accommodation and wish to have help in achieving this.  We source options and vacancies and work with others to effect a hassle free move.

4. For isolated older people without relatives in residential nursing care, or whose relatives live a long way away, we offer a monitoring and reviewing service. On occasions, this has also involved sourcing alternative accommodation, as well as making referrals for Continuing Health Care funding. In addition we undertake this for solicitors and local authorities who hold power of attorney.

5. We offer community care assessments and Mental Capacity Act assessments and an information/liaison service with local authorities

6. We offer benefit checks to ensure that a person is accessing the full range of benefits and concessions to which they are entitled.

We are an ethical company and work to social enterprise principles. We are a paid for service but aim to keep our costs as
