What does the befriending service offer?
Regular social contact can help build confidence and improve the health and well being of someone living alone or in social isolation. Our befriending service offers friendship and support through a visit or telephone call by a volunteer befriender. Working together we will tailor the service to the requirements of the older person.
Who are our befrienders?
Our befrienders are volunteers of all ages who live in the local community and who come from all walks of life. They are willing and committed to making a difference by working with Age UK Lindsey to deliver a service which is of benefit to older people. Befrienders are fully DBS checked and trained.

Anyone over the age of 50 living in East or West Lindsey who feels isolated and lacks social contact.

Local service (East Lindsey, West Lindsey).
What it costs:
There is a registration cost of £25.00 to join the Befriending Service.

How does the service work?
After an initial visit to discuss the service and requirements of the older person, we will try to find a volunteer in the local area who has similar interests. Befrienders will be introduced to the older person by a member of the befriending team and the relationship will continue to be monitored.
