Development workers with responsibility for older people

What does it do?

Dorset POPP employs five Community Development Workers. Three have a geographic and generic responsibility for older people across the county and two have specialist responsibilities across the whole of Dorset.
Working under the POPP Programme Manager, Sue Warr, three workers cover West Dorset and Weymouth & Portland; North
Dorset and Purbeck; and East Dorset and Christchurch to support local activities and opportunities for older people in their area.  They also have thematic responsibilities including black and minority ethnic issues, faith, housing, art, culture and heritage, mental health, and caring issues. There are two Community Development Workers with specialist responsibilities working in the areas of Access to Food and Nutrition and Volunteer Driver and Car Schemes each covering the whole of Dorset.
