The Bassetlaw Community Minibus is a wheelchair friendly minibus which is available to local community groups and individuals within the district who need flexible, affordable and accessible solutions to their transport needs.

Benefits of the Community Minibus: The minibus is fully wheelchair accessible with an under floor lift ensuring ease of access. Its features include:

• Removable seats
• Hydraulic tail lift
• Hand rail and steps
• Can accommodate up to two wheelchairs

If the lift is needed and passengers in wheelchairs need to be secured, seats will have to be removed to accommodate this, which reduces its seating capacity. There is space for securing two wheelchairs safely.

The minibus is operated by Bassetlaw Action Centre under Section 19 Minibus Permit which makes it available to non profit making community groups and individuals. Groups eligible to use the minibus would be those concerned with:

• Health and Social Welfare
• Sports
• Educational
• Environmental
• Religious Activities

and who need flexible, affordable and accessible solutions to their transport needs.

Booking the Minibus:

Any non-profit making community groups wanting to make use of the service offered by Bassetlaw Community Minibus are required to have attained membership through the Bassetlaw Action Centre. Annual and daily memberships are available.

Individual Members:

Individuals can also book onto trips organised by Bassetlaw Action Centre.

Payment is to be made at the time of booking for all day trips. Bookings that are not paid will only be held for 7 days.  Payment can be made by cash, cheque payable to Bassetlaw Action Centre or by debit/credit card over the phone or in person.  Please do not send cash in the post.  Please let us know at time of booking if you will be taking a wheelchair or walking frame with you as space will need to be allocated for this.

Registration is required before you book onto any of the trips. Registration with the minibus is free of charge.

If a trip is shown to be fully booked you can put your name on a reserve list and we will contact you if a place becomes available.

You will be at your destination for a minimum of 3 and half hours unless otherwise stated in this brochure.  Pick ups start from 8.30am unless otherwise stated.  We pick up from anywhere in Bassetlaw. Times may vary due to unforeseen circumstances or circumstances beyond our  control.  Please note – all trips and prices are correct at time of printing each leaflet but are subject to change.

When you have booked onto a trip we will telephone a few days before the trip takes place to inform you of the collection time.
