Blue Badge Scheme in Newham

What does it do?

A Blue Badge enables you to park close to facilities and services to improve your independence.  It can be used in all European Community Countries

Who it is for?

People in Newham who :-
* Are receiving the higher rate of the Mobility Component of the Disability Living
   Allowance
* Are receiving a War Pensioner's Mobility Supplement
* Use a motor vehicle supplied by a government health department
* Are a registered blind person
* Have severe disability in both upper limbs, drive a motor vehicle Regularly but cannot
   turn the steering wheel by hand even if that wheel is fitted with a turning knob
* Have a permanent and substantial disability which causes inability to walk or very
   considerable difficulty in walking

There is a £2 administration fee

How to access or apply for it:

You will need to fill out a Blue Badge application form and take it in to your Local Service centre. To get an application form you can ring 020 8430 2000 and we can send one out to you, or pick one up from your Local Service Centre

What to expect then:

Once you have filled in the form please bring it in to your Local Service Centre. Please bring the following with you:

* An original and up to date copy of your Disability living Allowance entitlement letter.
   If you need an up to date copy of this letter, telephone 08457 123 456.
* Two passport size photographs
* An administrative fee of £2.00 will charged for the issue of a Blue Badge
* Car details , make, model, colour, registration number and name and address of driver
* Proof of address and proof of identification
