Carers Sitting ServiceGood quality service for the elderly and most vulnerable in society.
What does it do?
We provide respite care to Carers in their own home by providing fully trained CRB checked Care Support Workers to sit with the cared for whilst their main carer has a well-deserved break. We promote independence skills with individuals as well as providing a cleaning, shopping service. The Carers Sitting Service also provides End of Life Care to individuals who want to spend their last days within their own home.
Who it is for?
Carers over the age of 18 and elderly, disabled people.
Where it is available?
Local service (Bolsover, North East Derbyshire).
What it costs:
£12 per hour for day sits and cleaning. £14 per hour night sitting.
How to access or apply for it:
Contact their GP, District Nurse, Social Services professional or Derbyshire Carers Association.
What to expect then:
Once they have been referred, they will be visited by either the Service Manager or Project Co-ordinator at a mutual time to assess their needs, discuss the cost, if any, and then they will be matched with a Care Support Worker who will meet their needs. They will have the same worker, where possible, at all times in order for the cared for to build up a relationship with someone they trust.
