We offer:
- Low-cost handyman service, carrying out small DIY-type jobs around the home.
- Making someone’s home safe for them to return to after a stay in hospital.
- Specifying and overseeing home improvements, repairs and adaptations, all carried out by trusted contractors with support from our technical officer.
- Affordable secured and unsecured loan schemes for home repairs, with loans from £2,000 to £30,000 available.
- A befriending service matching older or vulnerable people with volunteers who help with personal admin, appointments and social activities, or just visit.
Low-cost small jobs from multi-skilled tradesmen
The handyman service is for people who are over 55 years old, or under 55 with a disability and live in Stoke on Trent.
Qualified multi-skilled handymen carry out small DIY type jobs such as:
Fitting shelves and curtain poles.
Fitting hand rails and grab rails.
Fitting security measures.
Minor plumbing jobs like fixing leaking taps*.
Easing doors.
Fitting smoke detectors.

If you live in Stoke-on-Trent and you are older or disabled, we don’t charge a labour fee and we may even be able to get some materials free too.
