What does it do?

Carewatch Wyvern offers a full and comprehensive range of home care services including all aspects of Personal Care, Night Care, Cooking and Meal Preparation, Shopping and Domestic Assistance as well as Sitting & Companionship services. Staff can also provide the required levels of support outside the home accompanying Service Users on trips, outings and even on holidays.

Who it is for?

Whilst much of Carewatch's work is with Older People the company works with all sectors of the local population including those with Physical Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health problems and Children & Families and offers expertise in many conditions including dementia, MS, Parkinson's & Motor Neurone Disease. The company also has offers significant experience in palliative care, handling this in a supportive and sensitive manner.

What it costs:

Costs start at £15.95 / hour.

Carewatch Wyvern supports the new Personalisation agenda that affords individuals greater choice in planning and organising their care and as a result works with many people who are in receipt of Direct Payments and Individual Budgets.

Direct Payments may allow people in receipt of care that is wholly or partly funded by Somerset Social Services to switch over to Carewatch from their existing Provider.

Even if a person is in receipt of services that are wholly or partly funded by Somerset Social Services it may still be possible for this funding to switch over to Carewatch via Direct Payments enabling care to switch from the existing Provider.

What to expect then:

Carewatch will arrange for a senior member of staff to visit the applicants home to meet with them and/or their family to perform an assessment and agree upon a customised care package individually tailored to each appliocant's needs and requirements.

Carewatch Wyvern has been assisting people in Somerset & Mid Devon for the last fifteen years offering its Service Users access to a full range of Domiciliary Care Services. These include all aspects of Personal Care, Night Care, Cooking and Meal Preparation, Shopping and Domestic Assistance as well as Sitting & Companionship services. The company prides itself on providing the very best quality of care in the area and always seeks to accommodate its Service Users requirements. 

The company has recently become the first care provider in Somerset to offer electronic monitoring, improving two-way communication with care workers, service users and their families and recording real-time arrival and departure times. 

Carewatch is registered with The Care Quality Commission (CQC) and is accredited with both Somerset and Devon County Councils. Its most recent CQC Inspection rated the company as providing a good service, and the Inspection report is available on line from the CQC website.

All Carewatch staff have completed a full induction training programme before commencing work and the majority have completed, or are working towards their NVQ qualifications in Care. All staff have also obtained an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure. The company is proud that these procedures offer its Service Users real assurances and safeguards regarding the quality and integrity of Carewatch and its staff.
