Advocacy (Essex) Services

What does it do?

The organisation was formed from the recognition of the need for
strong country-wide partnership work and the provision of equitable and
consistent advocacy support for all vulnerable people. The key aims of
Advocacy (Essex) Services Ltd are to contract with advocacy providers
who will:

Support people to make informed choices
Assist vulnerable people to achieve their utmost potential, to live
fulfilling lives as valued citizens and members of their community
Support people in time of crisis and change in their lives
Empower people to speak out, to take control and to change their lives

Who it is for?

residents in Essex (excluding Southend and Thurrock) who have a
learning disability, a physical or sensory impairment, are older
people or those who are family carers.

Local service (Epping Forest, Harlow, Maldon, Tendring, Uttlesford, Basildon, Braintree, Brentwood, Castle point, Chelmsford, Colchester, Rochford).

The Referral Process

Advocacy (Essex) Services Ltd is contracted to manage this service
provision on behalf of Essex County Council, and has established
relationships with individual Advocacy Service Providers who are best
placed to provide the advocacy required. These Advocacy Service
Providers have a well established history in Essex of providing
professional advocacy and all operate in accordance with the principles
of the Advocacy Charter.

Referrals can be made to Advocacy (Essex) Services Ltd by social care or health care professionals, voluntary
organisations or individuals. This service is free and we operate a fully automated referral system.
