Brampton Dial-a-Ride service

What does it do?

The Brampton Dial-A-Ride is a door to door service which operates in and around the North Cumbrian Market Town of Brampton on a Wednesday (market day) morning. Our cars collect people from their homes and take them in to Brampton, or wherever they wish to go in the area, before taking them home again later. It is operated by a team of volunteers using their own vehicles.

Where do I get dropped off and picked up?

Passengers can be dropped off and collected anywhere they want within the area.

What if I want to walk into town and get a lift back?

Simply tell the admin staff when you book that you only want a lift one way. 

What can I use the service for?

You can book a Dial-A-Ride car for any purpose you wish - doctors or dentist appointments, shopping, visiting friends or simply going into town for a cup of tea and a chat.

Who it is for?

For residents of Brampton who are unable to use regular forms of public transport due to disability and/or factors associated with old age.

Where it is available?

Local service (Carlisle).

The cost of each journey is 50p - ie. £1 for a day return.

How do you book a lift?

Simply call our Carlisle office on 01228 536 673. Our admin team will then take down your details and book the car for you.

Telephone the Community Services Manager on 01228 536 673 between 9.30am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

You can also call in at our office at 20 Spencer Street, Carlisle between 9.30am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday.
