Small repairs service for older/disabled owner-occupiers/tenants

What does it do?

We can help with a wide variety of small general repairs such as fitting:

  • shelves
  • smoke detectors
  • key safes
  • grab rails
  • security locks
  • safety chains
  • door viewers.

We can also ease doors, carry out minor electrical work such as wiring plugs or replacing fuses and minor plumbing work like replacing tap washers.

Who it is for?

Our small repairs service is available to owner-occupiers and tenants who are aged 60 or more, or are registered disabled, or are suffering from long-term ill-health.

Where it is available?

Local service (Cherwell).

What it costs:

The cost of the service is £15 for up to one hour's work plus the cost of any materials. Work for a second hour (or part of a second hour) will cost a further £15. We are not able to undertake works that will take more than 2 hours.

For security reasons we cannot accept cash. Payments must be made by cheque.

How to access or apply for it:

To arrange a job call us on the dedicated small repairs service number - 0844 833 0310. We will take the details, check your eligibility and arrange for the technician to contact you to arrange a suitable appointment. We aim to complete jobs within 4 weeks of an initial enquiry.

Additional information:

The Small Repairs Service is not for emergencies and we cannot undertake the following jobs:

  • work involving the gas installation or gas appliances
  • electrical work (other than minor works)
  • unblocking toilets or drains
  • cleaning
  • decorating
  • gardening or landscaping
  • loft insulation
  • external work above ground level.
