CareShare – Supporting carers in the Cotswolds
What does it do?
Carer support workers go into people’s homes to enable the family or carer to have a regular short break from their caring role. CareShare can provide up to 5 hours of support a week.
Who it is for?
A flexible, home-based, respite care service for carers of people with physical disability or dementia
Where it is available?
Local service (Cotswold).
What it costs:
The service is free with some funding from Carers who are in receipt of Direct Payments.
How to access or apply for it:
Referrals including self referrals can be made by telephone or letter.
What to expect then:
The care co-ordinator will normally make an assessment visit and explain what the service is able to offer. They will agree an individual care plan with the person with care needs.
