Hospital Information and Support Service

Hospital information service

What does it do?

The Hospital Information and Support Service aims to provide short term support to people 50 and over who are admitted into Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan.
The Hospital Information and Support Service was set up in 2003. The purpose of the service is to provide information and advice to patients who have low to moderate needs.

Our service users are visited on their ward or via telephone; we discuss services available and access their needs. With the patient’s permission they will be signposted to the appropriate service.

If necessary a home visit can be arranged from our Liaison Service to further discuss your needs in the comfort of your own home.

The aim of this service is to enable you to maintain your independence and make your own decisions!
