Support to stay in your home.What does it do?
The Age UK Support at Home Service aims to provide low-level practical support to clients over the age of 60, to maintain independence and retain control of their lives.
Together with the Client we will develop a support plan which will be focussed around your individual needs aiming to put you back in control
A support worker will be allocated to you, to work along side you throughout the support. This means that a trusting relationship can be established and the client’s independence retained
- Support at Home Service is a floating support service.
- It is a service that receives its funding from Wigan Council

- Assistance to maintain a tenancy
- Problems with communication
- Budgeting and welfare benefits
- Safety & security in the home
- Move on aspirations
- Setting up and maintaining a home
- Personal safety and risk
- Mobility aids and adaptations
- Accessing G.P. and Pharmacy services
- Emotional wellbeing and mental health support
- Social and leisure interests
- Cultural and faith requirements
- Any other concerns raised by a potential client
