What does it do?

These are provided in community or other local venues, as well as the more traditional day centres. Catering for a broad range of cultural and ethnic needs, they provide an opportunity to meet friends and socialise and to take part in sport, exercise, arts and craft, music drama and outings. Many offer reasonably priced lunches or light snacks and some have information and advice drop ins.

What it costs:

The charges vary but none of the day centres and luncheon clubs aim to make a profit. In addition to the cost of any meals provided, many charge a small amount for coffee and tea as well as holding raffles to help out with the cost of entertainment, parties, or special occasions during the year
