Services For People With A Hearing Disability

What does it do?

Leicestershire County Council can provide help and advice on purchase and/or loan of specialist equipment to help hear environmental sounds around the home. Usually an assessment is made in order to determine equipment that may be required.
The Rehabilitation Team can provide:

  • An assessment for your equipment needs
  • Equipment on free loan
  • Information about local services and resources

There is lots of useful equipment available to help deaf and hard of hearing people to live more independent lives, for example, TV loops, flashing door alerts, flashing telephone alerters, vibrating smoke alarms or vibrating alarm clocks.
