Equipment to enable you to remain independent

What does it do?

We can provide aids, for example hand rails, raised toilet seats and bathing equipment following an assessment by an occupational therapist who will advise what equipment is most suitable. You can also buy your own aids and adaptations and we will advise on appropriate providers.

Who it is for?

If you are finding it difficult to live in your own home, you may need specialist equipment to help you cope with daily living tasks.

Where it is available?

Local service (Fylde, Hyndburn, Lancaster, South Ribble, West Lancashire, Wyre, Burnley, Chorley, Pendle, Preston, Ribble Valley, Rossendale).

What it costs:

If major adaptations are the most appropriate form of support, the district council may award a Disabled Facilities Grant to fund all or part of the alteration.
