Home Care

Home care services in Herefordshire

What does it do?

We can offer care in your own home if you need help with personal care such as:

  • Washing
  • Dressing
  • Taking medications
  • Continence management
  • Assistance with going to the toilet

We can also provide help at home with food preparation and in some instances, managing finances.

Before we can do this we need to assess your needs to find out what help you are eligible for and, if you are eligible for financial assistance, tell you how much your direct payments will be. We can help you to find support, or organise your own using this money. If you can organise your own support through relatives or friends, you do not have to contact us.

Who it is for?

Care in your own home is offered to people who require assistance with personal care such as washing or dressing, or in some instances, help in managing finances.

Where it is available?

Local service (Herefordshire).

What it costs:

Social Services are funded by the Government and through Council tax, but the Government also expects us to recover some of the costs by charging for services. They tell us how to do this, but they have set a limit on how much we can charge. This will always be less than it costs us to give you the service. Some people will not need to pay anything - we will ask you for details of your finances to make this judgement.
People who have savings and capital above £23,250 are not eligible for financial assistance towards non-residential care services from Herefordshire Council.

How to access or apply for it:
