What does it do?

The Drovers Activities Centre is run by Age UK Islington on behalf of Islington Council. Our focus is on fun, friendship & well-being with lots of enjoyable & fulfilling activities to get involved with and explore.

What you can do here

 

Health & Wellbeing:

Health & Wellbeing tutor Tina Baker coordinates a variety of low cost exercise classes to suit all abilities from Gentle Yoga and Tai Chi to Linedancing and Tap. We also organise Nordic walking in the park, Short mat bowls, table tennis and much more! Additionally our qualified and experienced practitioners offer low cost hairdressing. Chiropody, massage, acupuncture and reiki.

 

Arts

Arts tutor Andrea Sinclair leads an exciting programme of arts classes including sculpture, photography, print making, ceramics and much more. Exhibitions of art work produced are displayed in the centre as well as in the offices of a central London business, we hold regular Exhibition evenings.

 

Social activities

We have regular music, discussion, film and games groups and you will also be invited to attend regular parties, outings and events that are organised throughout the year.

As Drovers is an Online Centre, you will have free access to computers & the internet, with basic training available if you need some support.

Refreshments

A selection of hot drinks re available throughout the day.  ‘Soup of the day’ is available from 12pm-1pm every day – soup & a roll just £1.50

Who it is for?

If you are over 50 and live in Islington we would love to welcome you to the centre. Around 400 local older people benefit from the fun activities, new friendships & support gained through membership of the centre. Some members attend regularly, others join us for special occasions and outings or just drop in when they need help or advice. Come along to see how the centre could benefit you!
