Salford Wheelchair Servicewheelchair loans for people with permanent disabilities
What does it do?
If you need a wheelchair or special seating, we will offer you an appointment for an assessment usually within ten weeks. If we have the wheelchair you need in stock, you will be able to take it home with you (or we can deliver it). If we need to order your wheelchair, this can take six to eight weeks.
Who it is for?
We have strict rules about who we can help and what we can help with.
- You must be a permanent Salford resident or have a Salford GP
- You cannot walk, or walking is very difficult and is not going to get better
- You require a wheelchair for longer than six months
- You are totally dependent on a wheelchair for getting around
Where it is available?
Local service (Salford).
What it costs:
The wheelchair is a long-term loan so if you qualify for one, it is free. If you want to buy your own chair, we can give you an agreed amount of money to put towards the cost.
