Short Break Service

What does it do?

If you are eligible for social care support, you can include short breaks in your support plan. Carers too may be able to arrange their own short breaks, if they have had a carers assessment.

Who it is for?

Caring or being cared for can be very stressful and everyone deserves a break now and then. Community, Health and Social Care provide short breaks for:

  • people with mental health needs or their carers
  • people with physical disabilities or learning difficulties
  • older people
  • adult placement (regular care at someone else’s home)

Local service (Salford).

What it costs:

You will have to pay something towards the cost of your short break.
