Community centres

What does it do?

Community centres provide a central focus for community involvement and participation in a diverse range of activities and local issues, including community safety, planning, education and leisure.

A community centre is a network of all kinds of neighbourhood organisations. It serves a community, provides facilities for the development of the recreational, cultural and personal welfare of members of that community and provides a meeting place for voluntary organisations or other local groups.

All of the Council's community centres have spaces and are ideal locations to:
  • Run activities
  • Hold a meeting
  • Have a family party
  • For sports and fund raising events
