Waltham Forest - Day Hospital

What does it do?

Red Oak Lodge Day Hospital offers assessment, treatment and other therapeutic interventions for people 65+ years, who have mental health conditions. The interventions are provided through individual sessions, group work and community outreach visits.
The Day Hospital supports people to remain living in their local community and prevent admission to hospital. The philosophy of the
service is to promote independence, recovery and wellbeing to address symptoms caused by mental health conditions in older people.
The service is open Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm, caters for multi-cultural needs and also works very closely with the Red Oak Lodge Community Mental Health Team, relatives, carers, statutory and voluntary agencies. The service also works closely with Woodbury Acute unit providing daily sessions for clients from the admission unit, assisting to facilitating early effective discharge.
The Day Hospital service is provided by a multi- disciplinary team including psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists,
physiotherapist, healthcare support workers, domestic assistant and administrative staff.
