Dorchester Central Neighbourcar Scheme
What does it do?
The scheme offers transport to health-related appointments, including GP, dentist, optician, hospital and support groups.
Who it is for?
The Scheme offers help in the Community for those in need of assistance, who have no access to, or are unable to use public transport.
Where it is available?
Local service (West Dorset).
What it costs:
Dorchester Neighbourcar is supported by NHS Dorset and Dorset Partnership for Older People (Dorset POPP), who provided start-up funding for the scheme.
There is an annual registration fee of £5. Passengers will be asked to pay 60p per mile to pay for petrol and car running expenses.

What to expect then:
You will be sent an application form to register for the scheme.
Once you have registered, to make a booking, ring Vivienne on 07810 597002 (Monday to Friday 11 am - 1 pm, ansaphone available for all other times).

The scheme operates Monday to Friday. Our drivers are volunteers and use their own vehicles. Please give as much notice as possible.
