Gillingham Area Voluntary Car Link Scheme

What does it do?

A Voluntary Car Scheme that will take clients to medical and related appointments, hospital visiting, collecting shopping, prescriptions, library books etc, hairdressers/barbers and social outings.

Who it is for?

Disabled, elderley and people with no other means of transport.

Where it is available?

Local service (North Dorset).

What it costs:

Dorset Partnership for Older People Project (Dorset POPP) provided start-up funding for this Scheme, with the aim that it would become self-funding. Donations are requested.

How to access or apply for it:

Telephone the Co-ordinator on 07599 311443 to request an application form.

What to expect then:

The Co-ordinator will send you an application form to register and also provide details of suggested donation. Once you have returned the application form, you should ring the Co-ordinator to make a booking. The Co-ordinator will contact an available driver to book your journey and ring you to tell you the name of the driver and the arrival time at your home.

Additional information:

The scheme operates on weekdays but occasionally weekends can be accommodated. Our drivers are volunteers and use their own vehicles. Please give as much notice as possible.
