Help at Home

Help with housework, laundry, shopping, companionship, and more.

What does it do?

Our Help at Home Co-ordinators organise the service, each with their own area, thus covering the whole county. The Co-ordinators can visit your home to discuss:

  • Help required
  • Required number of hours and visits per week
  • Cost
  • Equipment required
  • Holiday/sickness arrangements
  • Insurance

The Help at Home Co-ordinator will then introduce a suitable Home Help who has been reference checked and has a DBS clearance.

Home Helps are able to assist with the following:

  • Housework (dusting, hoovering, bed-making, kitchen and bathrooms)
  • Laundry
  • Shopping
  • Prescription collection
  • Preparing light meals

Other assistance may be possible as agreed between the client, Help at Home Co-ordinator and Home Help. Home Helps are paid at the agreed hourly rate and a small service charge is payable to Age UK Surrey.
