Shaftesbury & Gillingham U3A

What does it do?

Each local U3A group is a charity in its own right and is run entirely by volunteers providing educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly and informal environment.
There are no entry requirements and no exams (unless members of a group wish to go the extra mile) so extending your knowledge in a particular subject or taking up a new interest can be really enjoyable.

Who it is for?

SGU3A provides a wide range of enjoyable, educational, creative, and leisure activities on a self-help basis for those at, or nearing, retirement and living in the Shaftesbury and Gillingham area of Dorset.

Where it is available?

Local service (North Dorset).

What it costs:

£16 annual membership and there is a further charge of £1 for each general meeting attended. The membership fee entitles the member to attend all general meetings and to join as many groups as they wish, provided there are vacancies.
