What does it do?

Our day care services provide an opportunity for clients who are at risk of social isolation a chance to interact with like minded people and reduce loneliness. Whether you are enquiring for yourself or someone you know that may have lost a loved one or would like to make some new friends or think it's just about time to try something new, Age UK Maidstones day care services could be the answer.

The clients will enjoy a two course hot lunch including refreshments. They will also have the opportunity to join in a range of activities such as bingo, raffles and quiz's. Once a month we will put on live entertainment for each of the centres to enjoy. Twice a year we will also take day trips out, in previous years we have been to The Pilot in Dungeness and various garden centres.

Who it is for?

The service is available to residents of the Borough of Maidstone who are aged over 55, subject to the following:
  • They wish to attend our service.
  • After their dependency level is assessed, we can confirm that our staff and volunteers are able to support them in the day centre.

What it costs:

The price is £14.20 for the day including lunch and refreshments. If you live on one of our transport links and require transport there is an additional charge of £10.00.

What to expect then:

One you have completed a referral it will be passed onto our day centre staff. They will be in contact to arrange an assessment and make sure that our service is suitable for you. Please bear in mind that our staff will not be in contact immediately, but they will get to your referral as soon as possible.

Additional information:

The day at the centres run between 10am and 2pm. If the client is using transport we require them to be ready at 8:45am and expect to be taken home by 4pm at the very latest. The exact time clients are picked up is dependent on their placement in the bus run. Our day care facilities operate in partnership with Golding Homes in the following locations:
