Information and Advice Service

Information & Advice Service

What does it do?

Age UK North Staffordshire offers a free, confidential, independent and trusted information and advice service. In most cases we can help you directly, but if we’re unable, we will put you in touch with someone who can.

Our information and advice service is specially tailored for the needs of anyone over the age of 50, and their friends, relatives and carers. Our help can make the difference between just managing and really living life to the full.

We stock over 70 different information guides and a wide range of leaflets covering many topics — please feel free to call in and browse Monday to Thursday between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

Our admin team can often help with more straightforward enquiries, but advice can only be given by our experienced adviser, and we ask you phone the office first as we no longer have a drop-in service. Home visits are unfortunately no longer available.

We can help you with:

  • Welfare benefits — your entitlements and filling in forms
  • Health
  • Social care
  • Residential and non-residential care
  • Help at home
  • Housing matters
  • Legal: Wills and power of attorney
  • Learning, Social and Leisure activities
  • Employment matters
  • Voluntary work opportunities
  • General enquiries
