Community Opportunities/Supporting People Service

What does it do?

A short-term service, offering life-enhancing experiences and support to help people live independently. These opportunities include support to obtain work experience, paid employment, home management skills, independent travel training, sport and leisure, education and training,
all designed to maximise independence. Service users who choose to take advantage of this service, are involved from the outset, in the
devlopment, planning and evaluation of their own support plan. All users of COPS are asked to tell us about their required outcomes and we
support them to work towards these goals....and have some fum and enjoyment along the way!

Who it is for?

Queens Cross Network offers individual support and opportunities for people who have physical or sensory disabilities or both.

Where it is available?

Local service (Dudley).

What it costs:

For our social inclusion service based at the day centre, you can
self-refer, but there is a daily charge for this service if you
self-refer. Self-referring/self-funding service users can live outside
of Dudley borough. Again, when self-referring for either service, you
must have a long-ternm physical and sensory disability to be eligible.

How to access or apply for it:


You can access Queens Cross in three ways: By being referred. For this, your social worker will assess your needs, to
see whether or not you are eligible for a place at Queens Cross - i.e. do you have a long-term physical and sensory disability, and live in
the Dudley borough?
Alternatively, you can self-refer. For our COPS service, there is no charge if you self-refer. For our social inclusion service based at the day centre, you can self-refer, but there is a daily charge for this service if you self-refer. Self-referring/self-funding service users can live outside of Dudley borough. Again, when self-referring for either service, you must have a long-ternm physical and sensory disability to be eligible.
