Community Transport in Poole

What does it do?

Provides door to door transport for GP appointments, social events and other essential journeys.
Also able to assist with transport to clubs and to visit someone in hospital or a care home.

We cannot provide a voluntary driver for hospital appointments at Bournemouth or Poole Hospitals or for shopping trips.

Who it is for?

Residents of Poole, who are eligible for a bus pass, do not have access to a car and have difficulty using public transport.

Local service (Poole).

What it costs:

Annual membership is £10 per year.
Journeys with the Voluntary Driver Service cost £4.50 for the first 5 miles and £1/mile thereafter.

What to expect then:

Applicants will be contacted by The Community Transport & Travel Co-ordinator who will arrange a home visit to confirm eligibility, discuss transport needs and complete the membership process.

Additional information:

Voluntary Drivers provide transport in their own cars, they all have had a DBS check. 

wheelchair accessible vehicle may be pre-booked with a voluntary driver for those who need to travel whilst seated in a wheelchair. A safety assessment will be undertaken before travel.
Subject to completion of a short training course, family or friends may borrow the wheelchair accessible car. A charge will be made based on the mileage covered.
