Good Neighbour

paperwork, befriend and “natter”, put up shelves, change light bulbs

What does it do?

Do you need help with small tasks around the home or maybe just someone to pop in for a chat? Do you know someone who does?

Our Good Neighbour scheme was founded in April 2009. We provide volunteers to help with those simple tasks that our elderly or vulnerable clients find too difficult. For example, we can put up shelves, change light bulbs, collect shopping, help with paperwork or befriend someone who is otherwise isolated.

Who it is for?

The Independent Advice Centre in Wantage provides a range of services to the people of Wantage, Grove and District.

Where it is available?

Local service (Vale of White Horse).

What it costs:

Advice Services and the Good Neighbour scheme are provided free of charge, however voluntary donations are always very welcome.

How to access or apply for it:

Please call the IAC on 01235 765 348 for more details for more details

What to expect then:

Our co-ordinator will visit you at your home to make an initial assessment and then will allocate the most appropriate volunteer for you.
