Care Direct - Short Breaks

What does it do?

Short Breaks are designed to give a carer a break from time to time. You may need a few hours to keep an appointment or catch up with friends and family.

Who it is for?

Short Breaks provide care for a person with a disability or long term illness to give the carer time out from caring.

Where it is available?

Local service (Bournemouth).

What it costs:

If services are arranged to meet your needs then your financial situation will be assessed to work out whether you are able to pay the charges and, if so, how much.

How to access or apply for it:

If you are interested in accessing the Short Term Break Service, then please contact your social worker or care manager.

What to expect then:

A social worker or care manager identifies the needs of the carer and the person they care for. They record the needs in the care plan which sets out the services you receive.
