What does it do?

Eligibility for the National Travel concession is changing. This concession provides free 'local bus' travel in the Rother District after 9.00am Monday to Friday. (Travel commenced in other areas is subject to the terms and conditions of their arrangements and may be from 9.30 am). Journeys can commence at anytime at weekends and bank holidays. These passes are valid for a period of up to three years.

Who it is for?

You may be eligible for a National Travelcard if you are a permanent Rother resident and meet one of the following criteria:

Age eligibility 
Eligible disabled people.
Are not permitted to drive (or are likely to be refused a driving licence) for medical reasons

How to get it...
The National Travel Pass is free of charge and you will need to complete an application form, provide proof of your eligibility (residency in Rother and age or of disability) and one recent passport sized photograph.

How do I know if I am 'eligible disabled'?
The people who are eligible are those who:
a) are blind or partially sighted,
b) are profoundly or severely deaf,
c) are without speech,
d) have a disability, or have suffered an injury, which has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on their ability to walk,
e) do not have arms or have long-term loss of the use of both arms,
f) have a learning disability - a state of arrested or incomplete development of mind which includes significant impairment of intelligence and social functioning, or
g) Would have an application to drive a motor vehicle refused otherwise than on the ground of persistent misuse of drugs or alcohol.
Additionally, some customers may be eligible for a 'Plus Companion Pass', these customers must be able to show that they are in receipt of the higher rate of mobility allowance and hold a current letter from a medical practitioner stating that they must be accompanied at all times to assist their travel, if their condition is ongoing. These passes are valid for a period of one year only.
