Who it is for?
The Care and Repair service was launched by Antonine Housing Association, in partnership with East Dunbartonshire Council in November 2004 to help older owner occupiers and privately renting tenants in East Dunbartonshire.
At that time there were three members of staff.
Over the years, the service has expanded and now assists older people who rent their property as well as home owners.
The qualifying age is 65 within East Dunbartonshire.
Those over 60 with a disability or significant health problem can also benefit from the services.

Tenants Support Service
This additional service has been provided by Care & Repair since 1 October 2012 to
- provide preventative services to an increased number of older and vulnerable people
- promote independence and wellbeing in a home environment that is safe, secure and comfortable
- reduce accidents in the home and the need for tenants to access health and social care services
The service will provide
- advice on small repairs and experienced trades staff will carry out any repairs that are not the responsibility of the landlord.
- home safety checks that identify hazards and provide solutions that will reduce or eliminate the risk of accidents
- details of organisations better placed to provide advice or assistance when appropriate
Adaptations by referral from Occupational Therapy
We receive referrals from the Occupational Therapy department of East Dunbartonshire Council and will endeavour, as far as possible, to take as much of the hassle out of the process as possible by acting on customers' behalf.
