Day Centre
What does it do?
Day care centre
The day care services previously provided by Social Services at Moor Court, Valley Drive, Ilkley, and Menston Hall relocated to Grove House in early January 2004 and August 2008 under the management of Abbeyfield.
The Centre is housed in the heart of the complex and consists of a lounge and activity room, disabled access toilets, assisted bathroom and hairdressing room. It is adjacent to the restaurant and coffee bar.
The communal rooms look out on to the Grove and the garden, and a patio area is accessed from the lounge. Clients can also enjoy the courtyard, accessed from the coffee bar.
Daily activity
The day starts with a cup of tea and toast on arrival. Beverages are served throughout the day. A three course lunch is provided in the restaurant and afternoon tea is served prior to departure at 3:30 p.m.
The Catering Manager caters for special diets and provides a varied menu throughout the week.
A dedicated team of NVQ-qualified carers provide support, supervision and stimulating activities, both mental and physical, under the guidance of an experienced manager.
The Centre offers a chance to meet new friends in a warm, friendly atmosphere and to participate in a wide variety of activities aimed at helping everyone reach their full potential.
We offer a bathing service for non-residents in our Day Centre. Information on this service can be obtained by telephoning the Day Centre Manager at Grove House.
Activities include:
- Relaxation classes
