Caring for someone
What does it do?
Carers Support
A carer is anyone who provides unpaid care and support for a friend or family member who cannot cope without it. This may be due to an illness, disability, mental health problem or an addiction.
Caring can have many positive and rewarding aspects, however there are lots of reasons why caring can also leave the carer needing support.
Caring for someone can have an impact on many aspects of your life and the council is committed to working with and supporting carers in North Tyneside. We provide a tool for carers to look at and identify their own needs through My Care and help them to access services, events, support and training specifically aimed at carers.
