Befriending & Visiting
What does it do?
Befriending & Visiting; Challenging Loneliness. Our Befriending service is for older people who are lonely and socially isolated. A Volunteer Befriender will visit to provide companionship on a regular basis. The primary role of a Befriender is to provide some company and a listening ear to those who do not have many friends and family nearby.
The service also helps identify further needs and concerns and allows us to offer additional assistance and support via our information & signposting service, which includes working with other organisations and local authorities.
All our volunteers are DBS and reference checked for this service.
