Transport Scheme

What does it do?

Transport Scheme. We have a pool of volunteers with their own cars to provide transport, and escort elderly patients to and from health and welfare appointments. A charge is made to cover costs.

Call 01737 370078 with at least 48 hours notice, and preferably at least a week (leave a message and we will get back to you)

About Our Transport for Health Service:
- A driver will collect you from your home and drive you to the appointment
- The driver waits for you, and when you come out of your appointment will then return you home.
- If you would like a friend or relative to accompany you we can take an extra passenger
- We can take wheelchairs

What is the Cost?

We make a modest charge to cover our costs. You do not pay the driver directly, but wait for us to send you an invoice which you can either pay by cheque via the post, on-line or personally pop into the office.

Charges between £7.00 and £28.50

These charges include a waiting time of up to two hours. If you need to spend longer at your appointment please make sure that you let us know at the time of booking, and you will be invoiced for two drives.
