Nirvana Day Centre

What does it do?

Nirvana Day Centre is a friendly, social space for adults with dementia, learning disabilities and physical disabilities. The purpose of this service is to enable clients to socialise with other individuals and to diminish isolation and loneliness. The Day Centre will empower our clients to feel in control, independent and will strengthen their self-esteem, allowing them to rely less on their carer(s) or family member(s).

SERVICES INCLUDE:

- Transport to and from Nirvana Day Centre

- Continental breakfast upon arrival

- A home cooked lunch at the Day Centre

- Light dance and yoga classes to encourage exercise and a healthy lifestyle

- Arts and craft activities

- Support with day to day skills i.e. completing application forms (with benefits and housing), writing correspondences, alongside signposting to relevant services.

- Film days on our flat screen TV – films chosen via ballot

- Celebration of birthdays, national and cultural festivities (Eid, Diwali, Holi, Christmas, Easter etc.)

- 15 minute, light Swedish massages 

- Manicures including colour on fingernails - outsourced from a qualified beauty therapist

- Cooking and baking sessions

- Bingo - with prizes to be won!

A luxury dining experience once a fortnight is served at the Day Centre and is added for a £10 surcharge per person. We encourage clients to dress for the occasion!

Listed above are the core services that Nirvana Day Centre offer, however as aforementioned, we are keen to respond to client feedback, therefore our programme is truly flexible in that it moulds itself to the needs and wants of our clients, making it as personalised as possible. If there is a specific activity you would like to add to the programme, you are welcome to speak with our Day Centre Manager to see whether this request could be accommodated.
