Visiting Support Service
What does it do?
This is a short term support service providing confidential, emotional, financial and practical support to help older people live independent in the community. The Visiting Support Service can offer support with:
Economic Well-being – such as debt, understanding and claiming your welfare benefit entitlements, budgeting and application forms.
Health – assist you in getting the help that you need to remain independent within your own home, finding solutions for personal care, cooking, laundry, shopping and gardening.
Tackling loneliness and isolation – working with you to find local groups and social clubs for you to join, helping you to find ways in which to learn a new skill or attending an exercise group.
Staying safe – support you professionally without making any judgements about you and your situation.
Making a positive contribution to the wider community – we can signpost you to community activities and put you in touch with local volunteering services.
Signposting you to other professionals who can help with individual problems in a personal and confidential way – for example Occupational Therapist to assist with adaptations to your property
