East Durham Community Transport (EDCT)

Community Transport Scheme

What does it do?

Our Member groups include youth clubs and groups, luncheon clubs, disability groups, sports groups, uniformed clubs and schools, many of whom have been using our transport from day one.  Our reputation as a reliable, safe, friendly organisation, we feel, is the main reason these groups continue to support us.  Transport is available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year which is also another benefit to groups.

We also operate a travel club all year round which is open to individuals living in East Durham.  There is no age restriction and we encourage passengers with disabilities to travel with us.  The travel club offers daytrips 3 or 4 times a week and has over 2000 members on its database.  We visit some lovely places which are not always easily accessible by public transport including the Lake District, Morpeth, York & Alnwick to name but a few.  We also arrange theatre trips, pub lunches and
