What does it do?

Living with Cancer

The Macmillan Cancer Support Programme is being run by Age UK Wakefield District, in partnership with Macmillan, to provide for patients who are 65 and over living with breast, colorectal or prostate cancer.

How the programme works....

Our Support Worker will visit you in your home, on a one-to-one basis, to make an assesment of your needs and provide appropriate support which could be:

  • practical advice
  • emotional support
  • financial advice

Who it is for?

Older people in Wakefield

We can provide you with support if you are....

  • struggling to manage significant life changes
  • socially isolated
  • lacking social and community support
  • in need of information or advocacy

Local service (Wakefield).

What it costs:

To bring this flexible service to you, we make an hourly charge and this can be managed through monthly direct debits to keep things really simple.
