Our ‘dementia friendly’ centre in Ashton-under-Lyne is a calm environment that has been designed to help older people feel less agitated and more able to navigate unfamiliar places.

Our ‘at home’ surroundings ensure you or a loved one will feel comfortable and able to take part in things that interest you.

We have a range of activities available at our Ashton-under-Lyne centre and at Bradbury House in Glossop including arts and crafts, cookery sessions, holistic health treatments, Tai Chi, walking groups, life story work, IT tutoring, reminiscence and much more. 

What can you expect? 

You can expect care that is matched to your needs, which we will monitor and review regularly. We will discuss your changing needs on a regular basis with you, your family and carers to ensure you are happy.

At Age UK Tameside, we believe in choice. We work with individuals to choose the support that is best for them. We value dignity, treat individuals with empathy and respect and ensure our services are inclusive.

Many people over the age of 50 who live in Tameside and Glossop can utilise Day Support. To see if Day Support is appropriate for you (or someone you care for), a member of staff will meet with you to talk about the type of help and support you need. If you choose to come to Day Support, we will undertake a thorough assessment to create a person centred package of care, ensuring that you or your loved one’s needs are being met whilst at our centre.

Local service (High Peak).

Individuals are charged £40 a day for accessing Day Support from Monday to Friday.  This cost includes the following:

• A thorough assessment that is regularly reviewed 
• 1:1 support from our Wellbeing Assistants 
• Transport to and from Bradbury House
• All meals including a light breakfast, tea, coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and other refreshments
• A range of activities to choose from
