What does it do?
The service will provide a trained volunteer visitor (subject to availability) who will socially engage with older people either in their own home or the wider community.
The service does not provide:
- Personal Care
- Tenancy support
- Domestic help
The service does provide:
- Support via trained volunteers who can provide companionship, chat and listen, reminisce, make a drink for you or undertake activities (jigsaw, play cards or dominoes, etc) where appropriate
- Help you to access other services you require, such as housing needs, counselling, lunch clubs or day centres, welfare benefits advice etc.
Who it is for?
Our Visiting Service provides social contact for people who are socially isolated in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
The Visiting Service welcomes anyone who is:
- at least 50 years old
- a resident in Nottingham City or Nottinghamshire in need of social contact
Where it is available?
Local service (Gedling, Mansfield, Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Broxtowe, Newark and Sherwood, Nottingham, Rushcliffe).
