Befriending Services in Havering

What does it do?

A nice cuppa and a regular friendly chat at home on or the phone can make all the difference when you live on your own.

Do you enjoy a good chat about what’s going on locally? A sparky debate about current affairs? If you live alone, or know someone who does, ask Tapestry about their Befriending Services.

Something to look forward to
Tapestry’s befrienders are volunteers who will visit you at home or phone you on a regular basis. They’ll call in for a chat to make sure befriending is right for you. If it is, they’ll get the ball rolling. If one of Tapestry’s other services might be better, they’ll recommend something more suitable.

Use the service in confidence: all befrienders are specially trained and DBS checked to ensure the safety of everyone they visit.

Friendly encouragement, with a smile
Know someone who could do with a little encouragement to get back into something they used to love? Or develop new interests? Our befrienders are great at inspiring confidence and independence where it’s helpful. They can also offer basic advice on things like local services and help with day to day matters too. For anything else they might need, like someone to accompany them to appointments or look after their home or personal care needs, other services are available, so talk to Tapestry.

Get the ball rolling
To find out more and to arrange your personal visit from our befriending coordinator, give us a call or drop us a line – there are plenty of ways to get in touch.
