Dementia Advisory Service in Havering

What does it do?

The help you need, as you need it: specially tailored services to support you in your caring role.

Are you caring for someone with dementia? Could you use some reliable support from helpful, friendly people who understand your particular needs?

Tapestry’s Dementia Advisory Service is a long established, dedicated service offering tailored support to people with dementia, and to their families and carers too. The service is confidential, and designed to work hand in hand with any other provisions you have in place.

Information, advice and caring support
Has a loved one recently been diagnosed? Have you just started caring for someone with dementia or memory problems? At a time when this is all new to you, our Dementia Advisory Service is the ideal starting point. Just give us a call or drop us a line and our skilled, experienced staff will be on hand to answer your questions and chat through a variety of options with you.

Dementia advisors
Would a personal visit from one of our specially trained Dementia Advisors be helpful? You’ll find their wealth of knowledge and experience really useful. They’ll visit you and the person you care for at home and provide you with information on all the services you can take advantage of, as well as advice and support. Could you do with a friendly, listening ear? Our advisors offer regular support calls and can signpost you to additional help when you need it, or when things change.

Help in the community
Would it be beneficial if you were better informed on dementia and related issues? Do you run a group or organisation that would like to learn more? Our Outreach Co-Ordinators work in the heart of the community to raise awareness through talks and training. Arrange a visit by giving us a call, or visit our website where you’ll find listings of all our upcoming dementia awareness events.

Drop in for a chat
There’s nothing better than talking to someone face to face. Someone who understands and has the knowledge to give you the help and support you need. Call in to our drop in centre in Romford for a sit down and a chat with one of our advisors. The centre also houses a host of resources including books and leaflets, and you are welcome to borrow any of our specially designed activity items and equipment on a try-before-you-buy basis.
